Training and Learning Support
At Fast Forward Project Management we recognise that you need to maximise the return on investment in training. This not only means raising awareness and your project management capabilities but also requires embedding the learning and use of the techniques in your daily work following attendance on our training workshops.
That’s why we prefer the practical, hands-on approach used on our workshops. It better engages the delegates using project scenarios and role playing and reinforces the learning as well as making the workshops enjoyable.
To complement this Fast Forward Project Management can provide specific project facilitation, coaching and mentoring support - refreshing learning through real project mobilisation and providing sustainability into the future. We can also offer virtual support to those who have attended our training workshops.
Development Framework
If you want your project managers and project team members to become true practitioners of the GDPM approach, we can help introduce an internal Development framework, provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring, working with individuals and their managers to develop personal action plans and assess practitioner candidates.
The Development framework will enable your people to develop their practical application of our Project Management approach and progress to Practitioner status.
We have a Development framework which can develop people skills and competences from a basic understanding of Project Management through to Practitioner, Coach or ultimately a licensed Tutor status.
This can be achieved via a number of steps:
- An Overview presentation - Often used for Human Resources, Training and departmental executives to gain an understanding of the benefits and key principles of our approach.
- 2-day Project Management Training Workshop - A highly interactive and practical workshop using the GDPM tools, techniques and templates in a safe, simulated project environment.
- Coaching, mentoring and project specific support - to help teams and individuals apply the learning in their own workplace.
- Facilitation of project teams through the key GDPM stages - initiation, planning, organising, implementation, controlling and closure.
- Coaching & development - can include assessment of individuals that wish to achieve licensed GDPM Practitioner, Coach or Tutor status. Developing coaches and tutors will in turn build your own companies self sufficiency.
- In life coaching and consultancy - The Fast Forward Project Management team can provide consultancy and facilitation support to your project managers and their teams - whether it be facilitation of the Project Launch / Initiation meeting, helping your team set up the governance, controls and key processes or undertaking a project health check / audit on your existing projects. We can provide an independent view of the current ‘health’ of your project and identify a series of recommended actions.
In terms of existing projects and programmes we can:
- Use our project health-check model to assess the effectiveness of existing projects and make recommendations on areas for improvement.
- Help you establish project and programme structure and governance - linking delivery to the overall business strategy; establish a portfolio of projects and management of progress and control.
In terms of the overall organisational support and environment we can:
- Help ensure that senior managers and sponsors gain an understanding of the Fast Forward GDPM based approach and what is expected of them in terms of their commitment, engagement, active sponsorship and setting priorities.
- Identify the processes, practices or systems that dilute the effectiveness of project delivery.
- Help you develop a project management framework of key tools & techniques, skills and development paths and professional project management communities for your own organisation.
- Use the Fast Forward approach to plan, communicate and deliver the new organisational structure to support the project management community.
